The Fund for Teachers - YouPD Challenge Grant is a pilot program extending the traditional Fund for Teachers grant opportunity offered through New Visions for Public Schools. This supplementary, citywide challenge grant opens the teacher grant opportunity to NYC public high school teachers. Applicants may only apply for one of the two Fund for Teacher grant opportunities.
There are TWO components to this Challenge Grant application; the Fund for Teachers application and the YouPD Unit Slam submission. Both components must be completed by the deadline. You may work on them simultaneously or one after the other.
As part of your grant application, you are challenged to create and post an original, Common Core aligned curriculum unit for a Regents course (in English, Global Studies, American History, Math, Living Environment, Earth Science, Chemistry, or Physics) for which you were or are the teacher. You will share your unit in two ways:
The following guidelines were created to aid you in applying for the Fund for Teachers-YouPD Challenge Grant. Go over them carefully before you begin the application.
The links to begin both components can be found at the end of the guidelines. If you have any questions, please email Patrick Rimassa at primassa@newvisions.org.
