Bob was my teacher for fifth and sixth grade. He told us he looped with our class because, as he told us, he loved us so much. He made us believe we were all bright and capable. He read full length classic novels with us, dissected frogs, staged full productions of plays and, as a marathon runner, ran outside with us during recess every day. We all adored him, and his wife and two small boys who often came to visit when we were working on special projects after school. He was my model for the type of teacher that I then became as well.
